GENERAL SURGERY:

General surgical cases such as Appendectomies, Herniorraphies, Lumpectomies, Cholecystectomies, Thyroidectomies and routinely done here. Laparoscopic surgeries are also routinely done here.

The 2 surgeons who run the department are Dr. Sundaravadanan and Dr. Deivanaygam. Complicated Oncological and Gastro-intestinal surgeries are also done here sometimes with the assistance of visiting Consultants.

The Urological services are provided by Dr. Thiruvarul and Cystoscopies, stone removal, TURPs, Nephrectomies etc are done routinely. Unusually thoracic surgery is also done.

Some of the cases done over the past few years are Bullectomies, Pneumonectomy, tumour excision, Biopsies, thymectomy etc. Routine Ophthalmology surgeries such as Cataract extraction and IOL placement are done here. ENT surgeries done commonly are Septoplasties, Endoscopic sinus surgeries, Mastoidectomies, Tympanoplasties, Tonsillectomies , Microlaryngoscopy etc.
